Some nice flowers bloomed at the park near my work.

A nice thing about jogging early in the morning is running into all of the wildlife.

It's a foggy drive to work this morning.

Last night I finished up a new comforter for Quinn. It's larger than the Legend of Zelda one I made earlier, which he still uses quite a bit when he snuggles up on the couch. This will be nice to keep him toasty in bed when it starts to get cooler.

Quinn came with me this morning to run the track at the Y. He's asked a few times when I've come home in the morning and he's been up so I thought today it might be fun for him to go and explore.

My dad had quintuple bypass surgery earlier this week, so we drove to the east side of the state to visit with everyone.

Dayzee wasn't feeling the best, so there were lots of cuddles.
We ate lunch out on the patio, enjoying the nice weather.
After lunch Chris and I headed downtown to The Henry Ford Hospital. They had a pretty cool sensor that opens the bathroom door with the wave of your hand.

My dad is still in the cardiac care area and you're not allowed to take photographs. He was doing better, and he has an adorable heart pillow he squeezes if he has to cough or sneeze. He isn't walking yet and coughing is quite painful still. We brought his phone so he could FaceTime with my mother and see Quinn (children under 12 aren't allowed in either).

All in all he was in good spirits, although exhausted. It sounds like today is the most lucid he's been since the surgery on Tuesday.

We spent a little more time back at my parent's house and then we headed home. Quinn refused to let go of his water bottle and every time I tried to take it he woke up. So for part of the ride he slept like this.

I was able to get out and lunch and do a run at the YMCA, so that was nice.

It's been a pretty busy week at work so I've been trying to get out in the morning to run in case I don't have enough time at lunch. With the sun rising later and later in the morning it makes when I want to go out darker and darker. So I've been waiting a little, but that cuts it close in the morning when I get back home.

I brought these Moon Pies in for the eclipse and we're all just slowly working through the box. It's been sitting, taunting me all day.

It's a silly morning with this little guy.

There's a solar eclipse today! Where I live I'm not in the path of totality, but a bunch of co-workers and I were able to step out in the afternoon and see the 88% (roughly) eclipse.

It's been a pretty good Sunday. We did some grocery shopping, I grilled some tasty food, Quinn took a nap. It's been fun watching him tell stories with his toys and listen to him voice a preference in breakfast options. He's growing into such a little person.

This weekend is the mini makerfaire in Grand Rapids. The Grand Rapids Public Museum hosts the event, and it's nice to be able to see the different museum exhibits while we are there.
Quinn had a lot of fun, mostly anytime something with a motor was around.
This giant table of legos was pretty fun too. He tried to find every wheel in the pile, since cars have wheels. Next year will be even more fun with him, since I suspect he will be able to participate in some of the crafts they usually have.

Well, today was the last day of the C25K program. I ran for time and not distance so I'm not running a full 5K in 30 minutes, but I've definitely proved to myself I have enough endurance to make it. I plan on gradually increasing my time so I'm running a full 5K in the next several weeks.

He really enjoys sitting in the driver's seat, turning the wheel and looking at all of the instrument panels.

The squirrels have been decimating my sunflowers. They've already broken and eaten buds off of another plant and they're chewing down the leaves on this one. So I've decided to try these skewers as a defense perimeter. Now they won't be able to sit in the pot nibbling away. At least not easily...

I'm so excited! The third book in this amazing trilogy is finally out and the toddler is in bed early. I am going to read all night!

He's so proud of himself, typing away on the laptop.

I saw this cake pan referenced in one of the groups I'm in and I fell in love with it. I ordered it immediately. A cake pan that bakes a pull apart cake? Yes please. Plus, the honey lemon cake recipe it comes with is pretty tasty.

We visited my parents and brother this afternoon. Quinn had a great time hiding under his swimming pool.
And Chris showed my dad VR with his new Daydream headset.
The little guy found my mom's old shoes and wore those around the house. This kid loves to put on all kinds of shoes.
He wasn't ready to leave when we had to go...
...but he loved cuddles with his uncle.

Sunrise, even hidden by trees and houses, is always beautiful.

Quinn and I took an early morning stroll and a nearby trail and were happy to discover this! A whole book to read on our walk. We had a lot of fun.

I'm building quite the little collection of toys on my desk. Not much, but a lot more than what I started with 5 months ago.

Leki is becoming more and more tolerant of the toddler.

I'm still doing the C25K. I'm on week 7 so I'm getting close to the end. After that it's just getting used to running more than 3 times a week.

While Quinn napped I played some games on the Switch outside.

We visited Deer Tracks Junction this morning. Now that Quinn is a year older we were curious to see how he handled the place.
He enjoyed climbing everything, even more than he did last year. And there were a lot more things to climb. The built a whole new tall structure and underground tunnel system.
The animals were adorable as ever. Quinn had fun feeding and petting them.

I earned a snarkasaurus and joined the club at work. I was awarded this little dinosaur as an award.

I don't know for sure if this is, but ever since I had poison ivy earlier this summer, anything with three leaves gets destroyed in our yard.

A co-worker brought these in to try. They are pretty tasty, complete with a lettuce flavor.

After dinner we whipped up a batch of chocolate chip cookies. I had a little helper who mixed everything.
And who made little cookie balls!
After everything was done we had a fun time taste testing our creations.
