We had a pretty low-key 4th of July. We (I mean Chris) washed the car....
..and headed out to Grandville to check out their 4th of July festivities. They use a local park and school parking lot to set up a lot of booths that sell food, lawn ornaments, and carnival games for kids.

The whole thing is very similar to what I grew up with on the other side of the state - minus live local bands. I think downtown Grand Rapids has live local bands though.

We spent the evening listening to the neighborhood explode. We live in a wooded area, so lighting off anything that flies into the sky seems like a bad idea to me. With the recent changes to the law concerning fireworks I think my neighbors are putting this to the test.
