At least for this squirrel it was. And I don't think he's told any of his buddies; he's keeping it all to himself for as long as he can.

Every day this week I've come home to find a squirrel perched on the bird feeder. Now I'm not like most people - I'm not angry that they're stealing from the birds or anything like that. Actually, I'm impressed. I remember watching one of them over the winter run around back and forth trying desperately to get up at the thing.

Well, I dont know if this is the same one or not but kudos to you, you cheeky little squirrel.

At lunch today (as I often come home for lunch living not too far from work) I stumbled across this little guy. He was chowing down, steadily, on the corn I'd left out.

At first I spooked him, but within 5 minutes he was back, eating more and more. I got a whole sequence of shots where he would turn with his back to me, peek over his shoulder to see if I was still there, then shift sides.

Eventually, he either ran out of corn in front of him and had to turn around, or decided I wasn't a threat. Whatever the reason, here's a shot of him with corn in his mouth, fur a little wet from the rain.

Kudos to this little guy for finally figuring out how to get onto the bird feeder. I've seen squirrels for months trying to figure out a way to get up there - even going so far as to climb the screen in a desperate attempt.

The image is a little dark as I didnt want to use a flash and spook the guy. Bravo little dude. Now lets see if you can do it twice...
