It's getting cooler (or should I say, it's more spring-like weather) but that isn't stopping us from exploring the woods.
I'm glad I snagged these boots last year - he's really been getting a lot of use out of them these last few weeks.

We did more exploring in the woods at lunch, and this time - disaster! Well, mud anyway. He was not happy to have mud all over.

With the weather warmer and the sun shining, we spent a lot of time outside this afternoon, visiting a two local parks.

We took a walk to the nearby nature trail and explored things on my lunch break.

The weather was warm and we spent my lunch hour exploring the woods, not unlike Hilda does, from the cartoon.
In the evening we played some  Minecraft together on our switches in bed. Uncle Jeff joined us for a little bit via FaceTime.

He loves to explore the various paths by buck creek after it's rained. And it's been rainy earlier today, which means mud!
Lots of climbing and investigating.
And seeing how deep he can get before water gets into his boots.

We took an early morning walk and wandered over to Buck Creek.
We saw deer and lots of mosquitoes. The water is low compared to earlier this spring, which means it's easier to walk around and less muddy.

We took an early morning walk and ran across all kinds of wildlife!

With the recent rains, the local creek flooded slightly. That means new things to explore with rain boots.
He really enjoys exploring and doesn't really fear much, which is both nice and stressful as a parent.

It rained yesterday, and it's going to rain later today. But in the morning we were able to get out and enjoy some warmer weather. We went up and down Buck Creek Nature Trail and enjoyed all the puddles together.

There still isn't a clear policy at work for working from home, so I took a personal day today to continue doing social distancing. I'd rather keep the family safe than risk any serious illness or death. I also dont want to potentially be a vector and not know it. So instead we took a walk along a local nature trail today.
We also went "camping" in his bedroom, and played lots of games.

Now that it's no longer freezing rain and sleet, the little one and I left the house. We bundled up in a bunch of layers and took a walk nearby the house.
The nature trail was flooded, which makes sense with all the rain. So we didn't end up getting too far, but far enough for a 4 year old.
In the afternoon we made another Popin' Cookin'. This time we made candy sushi.
He had fun and ate the whole thing. It must be good since he inhaled it all. I was too unsettled with how the roe looked like intestines to try anything.

Today was more sunshine and warmer weather. I took a walk at lunch.
And we took a walk together when I came home as well. It's nice to get out of the house into fresh air.

We took a walk after work today. It's starting to get chilly.

We're up again early so we're out for another walk. It's foggy today.
We also ran across this turtle. I'm assuming this is the same one, but maybe not. Same general area as yesterday.

We took an early walk before I went to work. On the nature trail we cam across a turtle slowly walking across the grass.

It's nice to live near nature trails, where we run across deer and other animals in the morning.

He was a little chilly this morning on our walk.

We took another early morning walk and ran into more deer.

The four year old and I went for an early morning walk and interrupted some deer on a nearby nature trail.
