It stopped raining over night so Chris was able to test out the mower this morning. He has a pretty good write up of his experience and the differences between the electric and gas here, on blog.
While Chris was out being productive, I was trying to finish up the one last thing in Guild Wars. I finally snagged the last bit I needed to get 15 points in their Hall of Monuments. So my intense binge the last few weeks have come to a close (until Guild Wars 2 launches in 2 weeks, that is). Now I have a lovely set of tonics to turn my character into random things, including a Mursaat.

With the last point achieved, I needed a break from Guild Wars. But I'd been playing it in all my free time the last several weeks I flailed around all afternoon trying to find my footing. Read? Naw. Watch TV? Naw.
Finally around 9pm I decided to bake. I've been saving a few different recipes to try and tonight sounded like a good night to try the chocolate chocolate chip cookie recipe.

They're not bad cookies. I made them as huge cookies, but that's ok. They're a nice change from regular chocolate chip cookies.

Guild Wars 2 comes out in a few weeks and I've been trying to cram in as much as I can in the way of acheivements in Guild Wars so that they will translate into Guild Wars 2. They're cosmetic items, but seriously - who doesn't want an orange tabby (that looks like Leki) following them around when they quest across Tyria?

So I forgot to take a photo of anything else I did today (which wasn't much) and ended up with this single screenshot from completing Nightfall. This is the first Guild Wars campaign I've completed, despite having an account for almost six years.

I'm kind of terrible with finishing things.

But at least now I get my orange tabby. Yay for a virtual companion that looks like the orange one who sits on my lap when I game!

A weekend of Guild Wars 2 meant I was up to playing some regular Guild Wars. Plus Monday was kind of a rough day so what better way to wind down than running around with my pink flamingo companion?

I may or may not have spent a rather large part of my evening playing Guild Wars.

It's becoming a slight obsession.

It's the last day of a four day weekend and there are still so many things I want to do!

First thing this morning started a batch of DIY bird feeders. I ran across this craft a several months back and now that we have a yard I figured now is the perfect time.

I ended up using a random assortment of large cookie cutters, including a pumpkin and a teddy bear. (FYI - when the recipe says 1 3/4 cups water it really means a single 3/4 cup of water. I used 1 3/4 and ended up with a runny mixture I had to drain).
After we got back from running some errands I settled in for a session of Guild Wars. Having played so much of the Guild Wars 2 beta I started itching to play the original game. I'm so close to finishing the Eyes of the North main questline I can taste it...
Later in the afternoon I cast on some stitches and started in on another Dalek Washcloth. The pattern is really easy and it's a quick knitting project. Since I really shouldn't be knitting because of the strain on my wrists and elbow, I'm going to try to do a row or two a day (no more!) and see if I can get some smaller projects done.
After dinner the bird feeders were hard enough that they could be hung. We put one as an experiment off the back of the deck. I suspect it will be gone in the morning.
I even fiddled around with a arduino-controlled RGB lamp.

I definitely feel like this last day of the long weekend was a productive one for fun projects.

I didn't feel the greatest most of the day, so I didn't do much of anything Saturday. Although I did run around briefly in Guild Wars to do some Halloween quests with candy corn minions. So there! I did something.

...not including those other times that there's a fuzzy orange butt in my face....

It was a long day. Came home and played some Guild Wars.

I could be developing a gaming habit again.

I played quite a bit more Guild Wars today, which is ok by me. I pretended that it rained all day (instead of just in the morning) and did a few missions. It's been ages since I've really played the game and with the online play free, there's no reason not to pop in and out of it.
I also ate a lot. For no reason other than it was there. I attempted to make a breakfast pita which ended with some charred spinach. So later I thought I'd try again with the pitas but this time with just random stuff from the fridge. So tomatoes, spinach, feta, beans, mushrooms, etc. I made a regular pizza pita for Chris and two veggie pitas for me so I'd have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

I still want to cook things but I don't really have anywhere to put anything and we're pretty well stocked on everything. I suppose I should start eating some of the pierogies from the freezer. Even after giving my parents a bag there's still a ton. And then there are also those cookies I made the same day as the pierogies, and blueberry muffins from earlier this week, and a few more pieces of beef jerky even.

I still want to cook something. Like a giant lasagna or something and freeze it into meal packets. Or tuna casserole. Or even start trying to work with fondant again to attempt something Green Lantern-themed for Chris's birthday. Even though last year was a disaster.

Like so many others, Guild Wars is ramping up for the Halloween season.  Here's a shot from the main city in the Nightfall game, complete with a cardboard cutout spooky house decoration.

My intent was to login briefly to check out the festivities.  Two hours later I was still playing part of the Eyes of the North campaign quest line.  I forgot how fun the game can be!
