This morning I finally cut out a Christmas tree from some leftover felt my mom gave me a few months back. Now to mount it on something!

The toddler has a hard time giving up all of the cat treats. He'll hand over all but one. Then he'll spend the next five minutes running around pretending to give it to the cat and snatching it back.

That cat is far more patient than I would be in that situation.

I really enjoy sitting with the lights off next to the Christmas tree. It's especially peaceful when I'm all alone in the living room and I can just enjoy the quiet.

Made some cookies this afternoon, without too much help from the toddler (which means everything went a little faster than usual).

We put up the Christmas tree today. There was a lot of excitement at all of the lights and ornaments. He's really enjoying the decorations so far.

 As is tradition now, I made our second Thanksgiving today. Making a turkey breast is a lot less work than a whole turkey, so I'm happy it's just the 3 of us and a single breast will suffice.
The evening was full of all kinds of shenanigans. The little guy had two naps yesterday which meant no naps today. By 6pm he was tearing through the house like a whirlwind.

We drove to the east side of the state today to visit my mother in law first. We typically stop there for a few hours in the morning.

Quinn had a lot of fun running around and getting into all of her delicate decorations.
We headed out to my parents house in the afternoon for thanksgiving dinner. We tossed a little of everything on Quinn's plate, which he promptly turned his nose up to. He's been very difficult these last few weeks and refusing to eat much of anything. Today was no different.

He did eat cheesecake though. Because of course he'd eat dessert.
He also enjoyed his pick of water and milk from two different cups. Who doesn't like a variety of beverages?
In the evening we headed home with his blanket and a Sesame Street DVD. He fell asleep after 20 minutes or so, which made for a peaceful trip back to the west side of the state.

Sweet potatoes have never been a staple at our family thanksgiving table. After having Quinn and learning that they're kind of tasty, I've been trying to work them into our diet a little more often. Well, into Quinn's diet more often.

So this year I thought I'd try the sweet potato dessert thing I always see photos of.

Of course I only had colorful marshmallows and not plain white ones.

He put himself in there. Every time I opened the gate he shut it again. I mean, if he wants to stay locked in there, who am I to complain?

I bought a pack of mint chocolate chips this past weekend. I thought I'd try them in a cookie recipe. They're not bad and the mint isn't nearly as overpowering as I thought it was going to be.

I met my friend Lori for breakfast this morning and she had a few boxes of books in her trunk! Most of them are too old for Quinn yet, but man, this kid is set for the next several years.

I found a stash of these at Meijer. Since it's a seasonal summer beer I snagged a few for the upcoming winter months.

Pokemon Sun and Moon launched today. My copy was waiting for me when I got home and once the toddler went to bed I booted it up. Hello little Rowlet!

I ran out to the local Walgreens to pick up some medicine. Stuffed right next to actual children's medicine was a whole line of homeopathy.

Homeopathy is not medicine. It's pseudoscience. What the hell Walgreens. Get your shit together.

There was a lot of fog during the drive in this morning and it was still hanging around at lunch, although not nearly as thick.

I've been enjoying this cute puzzle game on my phone called Monument Valley. It's a nice way to pass the time when I just really don't want to read another article on something.

Ugh, so many.

 My parents came out for a visit today.
 And he finally fell asleep after a long, hard day of playing. All he had to do was stop moving for five minutes and he was out.

I have an older Nexus tablet that is pretty slow. It can't get the latest updates and it really chugs along sometimes to do things. So I bought a kids case that arrived a few days ago and have been letting the toddler try some things on it.

He's really enjoying this Sesame Street cookie game with Elmo and Cookie Monster. The dough sound effect when you touch it makes him giggle endlessly.

The new Google Pixel arrived today and it's beautiful. A very nice upgrade from my older Samsung device.

Naps are important.

We did our civic duty this morning and voted!

We have a carpet of leaves out back.

It's a beautiful day and probably one of the last ones for the season. We headed out to the Zoo to enjoy the outdoors and have some fun.

We went to see Doctor Strange today, trading off so someone was home with the little guy. After Corinne came over to hang out and talk nerdy stuff.

Quinn is excited for this week's Story Time at the library!

That toy is the bane of my existence. Who makes toys with no on/off switch?!

I haven't played Animal Crossing: New Leaf in years. Partially because I didn't want to deal with the guilt from my townsfolk about being gone for so long, and partially because I have a plethora of other games for my 3DS to play.

However, Nintendo released an update for the 3DS game that supports amiibos and adds some new content. So I've been enjoying running around my town this evening and saying hello to all my villagers.

I forgot how adorable this game is!

The leaves are turning and it's nearly 70 degrees today. Beautiful weather before the rain and snow start in soon.
