The little one has been watching videos of different ways to decorate cupcakes. I've been putting off making them for a few weeks so today is the day.
He helped mix, pour and the decorate the cupcakes.
He stopped to taste test things as well.
Chris made the toppers out of card stock and Quinn taped toothpicks to them. He had a lot of fun decorating and tasting everything this afternoon.

We picked up a few groceries this morning and the little one was so excited to help and drive his own cart.

Yoshi's Crafted World is out today and the little one was so excited to play. He's been playing the demo over and over the last few months.

My phone and CR-V do not always see eye to eye.

Finally. It's not Elder Scrolls VI but it will do.

Now that the weather is getting a smidge warmer, we're taking walks when I get home from work. It's nice to get out and walk around the neighborhood again.

Baba is You is a delightful puzzle game. I'm loving it.

We drove to the east side of the state and visited my brother and parents. Quinn had fun helping his uncle with a large puzzle.
He also had a great time running around at the nearby playground and park. It's nice to finally have sunny weather!

We spent part of the day at the Grand Rapids Art Museum. It's more low-key than our little one is used to, but it's good to expose him to new things.
Plus he loved putting this puzzle together. He insisted we stay until we'd put the whole thing together.

He's having fun drawing. I love it when he works on something by himself and creates something new.

I'm finally back to work. It's been a rough few days. Geese have arrived and are enjoying the sunny weather.

I stayed home sick again, three days in a row now. I was feeling better yesterday afternoon but today it's been terrible.
Yesterday I had crocheted a very silly little finger puppet bunny. It's been years and years since I've crochet anything, so it's not well done but it's serviceable and the little one loves it.

The latest Kameron Hurley book arrived today. Yesterday a package of swag came, so I'm all set for  her latest book!

Well now I'm not feeling well, so we all ended up staying in bed or lying on the couch. Ugh.

We were supposed to head over to the east side of the state today, but we stayed home since I don't feel the greatest and Chris is downright sick. The little one is in good spirits though.

We headed out to pick up some supplies and do story time at the local bookstore, which he enjoyed.

We played Yeti in my Spaghetti this afternoon. He's been interested in the game for awhile and always comments on it when we see it in the store. He had a lot of fun, despite wanting to just grab a bunch of noodles and yank.

I'm happy the modern Lite Brite is portable. We can carry it all over the house and he has fun making different things.

The little one was feeling a little under the weather today, so we cuddles on the couch when I came home from work. He slept pretty much the entire evening.

Someone didn't want me to go to work this morning...

I cannot believe this thing is STILL ALIVE. This plant is from last Mother's day. I'm finally keeping a plant alive. I guess it took having a kid for me to remember to water a plant?
This evening after work Quinn and I went to the library to pick up some books. He put a puppet show on for me, which was cute.

Quinn and I gave Chris a break and we spent the afternoon downtown. First we spent a few hours at the children's museum.
It's smaller than the one in Ann Arbor and Impressions 5 in Lansing, but they rotate out a few sections so there's always something new, like this balancing beam volcano area.
We spent most of our time filling up and driving around in little cars. This was his absolute favorite part.
After, on our way back to the car, we stopped at the Grand Rapids public library, which I absolutely love. They have a fun children's section so we spent some time dressing up and playing.

Today is opening day at the local zoo! There's still snow on the ground, but it's sunny out so we ventured out to see some animals.
A lot of the days have been bitter cold, so it's nice the temperatures are finally climbing. Quinn had a great time running all over.
Even the petting area animals were around, though inside the barn.

This cat is so silly. He's enjoying this fabric box close to the heat register.

We spent part of the morning before I went to work building with LEGOs.

Some things don't need to exist. This cereal is one of them. So disgusting.

With another round of snow that means more shoveling for Chris.

It is never going to stop snowing. This is what we get for having virtually no snow in December.

We spent part of the day painting, which is always fun.

So this morning a cricket was waiting for me when I got out of the shower. The cat was curious, but did none of his cat-duties. Which meant our little one saw and thought the invasive species of cricket was cute.

Next thing I know we're putting it in a little habitat with some dirt. I guess this is his first pet, which he named Tree.

My dad used to eat toast with tons of peanut butter and some jelly on it in the morning. I'm not eating nearly as much as him, but I certainly am slowly becoming my parents. Now all I need to do is blast NPR at breakfast and my transformation will be complete.
