We've overcome the hurdle that is gagging and vomiting with food over the last year. I thing being stuck home in the pandemic helped us to really focus on this and help him push through. He still isn't a huge fan of certain types of foods, but I appreciate he's willing to eat a larger array without huge fights and messes nightly.

We've been doing a lot of Mario lately, so I made a pokey today with his pancakes.

We rolled out some sugar cookies this morning.
We made some dango in the afternoon, thanks to Monster Hunter Rise and the adorable palicos serving it to my character.
And we also put together a Poppin' Cookin' kit with Uncle Jeff. Quinn eventually got tired of waiting of his uncle to catch up and grabbed the switch to play some Mario games while he waited.

We made some colorful chocolate chip cookies.
Spring is here and he's enjoying tasty treats and sunshine as a palico from Monster Hunter Rise.

We set up a garden box in the backyard. I still need to fashion a covering for this to prevent deer from eating things, but I have some time.
I also made this berry coffee cake. Since no one else in the house is interested in pastries with fruit, this baby is all mine.

Today is a day for Harry Potter things. I did some cooking on and off today, as well as assembling a spider PB & J sandwich for the six-year old.
We had magic wands.
And chocolate frogs.
As well as pumpkin pasties and polyjuice potion. It was a fun day for making an array of different foods.

We made another Popin' Cookin' candy kit today. He loves doing these and was happy with how they turned out.

The weather has been wonderful, so we've been spending outdoors when we can.
I've also started making some home made pizzas. It's been awhile, and I decided to try it with cornmeal this time. I can't believe I've been making pizza all these years without using it. Makes a world of difference.

Little one was far less impressed with tofu parmigiana than he was with the pizza. He did not like it one bit.

We made pizza together today. This time I used cornmeal, which I think helped tremendously. This was the best version of pizza I've made in years.
I also think making his own pizza helped him really enjoy the finished product. One thing about staying in so much is we've been more strict with having him try new things. It's the only variety in some of our days! He's really expanded the food he will eat, so that's a great success.

This morning we made cinnamon rolls from scratch.
the finished product was definitely his favorite part.

We've had an incredibly long day. The 5 year old has been up since 5:30 in the morning. That meant getting an early start on some sourdough bread, yard work and more.
I also introduced him to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild today. Or rather, I let him start his own save and start fresh. There's still a fair amount I hang out and help with, but his hand eye coordination is getting better.

I did some baking today, including a bunch of lemon poppy seed mini-loaves. Since we have a bunch of lemons, I might as well make some tasty lemon-flavored things.

We have a number of clementines, so early in the morning I decided to use some up by making a cake.
In the evening after work, we spent time chasing frogs in the yard. I'm enjoying the lack of commute daily. It means a lot more time together as a family for lunch and in the morning and evening.

I made some homemade pizza for myself for today through the weekend, using leftover scraps and alfredo sauce.
We also took a fun stroll at the nearby park during my lunch. The weather is beautiful today so we wanted to get as much sunshine as we could.

I made some bagels over the weekend, so I had an egg and cheese bagel sandwich this morning. Not bad.

I finished up two masks for Chris this afternoon, using this Instructable. They are a little large for me, so I plan to make another set for myself, but they'll work for Chris when he needs to go out. Next is a pair for me and inserts for all the masks.
I also fed the sourdough starter I started yesterday, baked a cake and started a second batch of bagels. The ones I made last week didn't come out very well, and I'm pretty sure I missed an ingredient when dumping them into the bread machine. All in all, not bad for a rainy Saturday.

Christmas cookies!

Sometimes I don't feel like packing a lunch, or going and buying anything, so I end up eating these emergency meals Chris buys for me. They never quite look as tasty as the photo.

We did the Great Candy Cane Hunt this year.
The first part of the event is running around and finding candy canes (laminated colored ones) and turning them in for real candy candes.
There there are inside activities such as stories and games.
Plus pizza! This is the first time he's actually eaten a pizza slice willingly, so we were very happy.
After we spent the rest of the day baking all kinds of cookies.
