Today was such a busy day! We headed out to Holland for a small comic festival.
We stopped to see Comfort and Adam.
 And Corinne Roberts.
The weather ended up being much nicer than it was supposed to be (and what tiny amount of snow there was had melted) so we stopped by the Wyoming Spring Carnival.
 We alternated rides with Quinn.
And he rode his first rollercoaster by himself.
He had an amazing time and wanted to see everything, even if some rides looked a little "too scary". Most rides he was tall enough to ride, so it was a great afternoon out in the sunshine for us all.

Today is the last day of our long weekend. I made some mango bread (which is tasty!) in the morning and in the afternoon we headed out to Holland to walk through one of the larger parks in the area.

On a map, it looks large and nature-like. But when we got there it was a pretty well manicured park with minimal trees and no dirt paths. But we walked it anyway.
Helder Park has a large field with lots of wildflowers...
 ..and insects buzzing around.

It was quiet and empty, which is odd for a summer day but maybe the heat is keeping most people indoors.
We decided to head in to Holland and check out some things and stumbled across a mall that had about 80% vacancy, and this cute Dutch Village. We didn't go in but we did snag some overpriced ice cream and fudge. It was like being on vacation without going to far!

I'm sad that our long weekend is nearly over, but I am looking forward to just a short 3-day work week and then another weekend!

This week my little brother was spending out in Holland with his fiance's family for their traditional summer retreat. Knowing he was only 1/2 a hour away from me I couldn't miss the opportunity to see him. Rarely do we get time as he lives on the other side of the state and is not always accessible.

It was good to catch up with both of them and enjoy the evening sun and water. I always enjoy their colorful tales and unique perspective on things.

So here's a shot of Jeff & Karen hanging out on the dock showing us around while Jeff stuffs his face.
