Normally an old co-worker and I meet up once a week downtown for lunch at The Pita House. We both work downtown, so it's incredibly convenient, not to mention tasty.

Last week, however, we weren't able to get together. That meant a double helping of pitas this week. Pitas on Monday and pitas on Thursday.

I love this restaurant. Tasty and everyone who works there is awesome.

On my way to meet Lori for lunch today I noticed rows of arrows (or are those houses?) crisscrossing Rosa Park Circle. Not sure what they're for, but they're interesting looking.

Deliciousness at The Pita House for lunch with Lori!

I met Lori, as is our tradition on Friday, for lunch downtown.  We decided to try Taco Boy since there's a new one that just opened up downtown.  Lunch was tasty, and the Lori and I had a good time catching up now that the holiday's are over.

And no, that's not a photo of Taco Boy. It's close to the new restaurant, but I completely forgot to take a shot of place when I got there.  So here's the holiday tree outside of the Grand Rapids Art Museum next to the skating rink.  Really I was trying to get snowfall but it didn't appear to show up on the ipod touch photo.

Alright, so maybe I'm more "in" the skywalk than on it, but for some reason I think of Simple Mind's song Up On The Catwalk every time I walk through this thing (even though they are completely not related, at all....).  As a kid I didn't know what a catwalk was so I thought the song was more or less referring to Cat Woman walking up on some precarious beam stretched across two buildings under construction or something.  I didn't know any of the other lyrics to the song so it almost made sense to me...  Anyway....

I had a delicious turkey and cranberry lunch at the Skywalk Deli with Lori today.  I good last lunch out for the work week.  We both discussed our plans for the upcoming holiday, which more or less involve hanging out at home since neither of us are barflies.

Looking forward to more lunches in the new year!

Like a lot of bookstores these days, Schuler's has a cafe inside of it.  So Lori and I met for lunch today and checked it out.

I'm not really surprised at that they have a cafe, or that they offer some cold sandwiches or pastries, but I was surprised at the full blown menu including personal pan pizzas as well as a beer and wine selection.

And their prices.

But that's ok; sometimes you stumble across an expensive lunch menu downtown, sometimes a reasonably priced one.  The important thing was I got to catch up with Lori and have a nice chat before we each had to go back to work.

If only lunch breaks were longer....

it's Friday, which means a tasty lunch out with Lori. Or so we thought...

We met up at Bite, which is a soup/sandwich/salad bar. I snagged a chicken pesto sandwich and Lori got a grilled cheese. Both were disappointing. Lori's grilled cheese was about a 1/4 of a normal sandwich, and cost several dollars. My pesto sandwich was equally disappointing. It had some odd mayo sauce and noodles in it. Ew.

Still, it was good to meet up and chat about work, family, and other randomness.

And luckily we both had emergency food back at our desks to tide us over until dinner!
